Domaine de Murtoli

Sartene – South West Corsica

Nowhere. Nowhere in France, nowhere in Europe, nowhere in the world does anything compare with “Domaine de Murtoli”.

This “dispersed hotel” combines accommodation in approximately twenty barns and houses dating from the 17th century, in some cases located several kilometres apart, with customised hotel services, providing an extraordinary getaway experience.

Practically all of them have their own private pool. All open wide their cast iron gates to offer you modern comfort and a blazing hearth as soon as you walk in.

Domaine de Murtoli goes beyond the simple idea of combining agritourism with a hotel service and defies every definition. Nevertheless, Murtoli is the only 5 star hotel to remain open all year round in South Corsica.

Houses& Barns

Your mansion or barn will shelter your nights and provide a peaceful refuge in the daytime.

The magnificently austere stone structures, so typical of the island’s architecture of the 17th century, face up well to winter and protect against the heat of summer. Each has its own atmosphere.

Domaine de Murtoli’s own produce takes pride of place here,

alongside other fare of Corsica and produce from the surrounding sea. Veal and lamb from the farm, fruit and vegetables from the gardens, olive oil from the mill, and freshly-caught sea bream, dentex and urchins.

A hundred and one delightful flavours enhanced with the herbal aromas of the maquis.

La Table de la Ferme

The farm buildings stand on different levels of an esplanade overlooking the golf course and include two vast rooms with bay windows and arches, timber ceilings and time-polished tiled floors, monumental fireplaces and furnishings of old. One houses the Bar, the other the restaurant, La Table de la Ferme.

Evenings here are cordial and the food brims with the flavours of a rustic-inspired cuisine that is elegantly creative. La Table de la Ferme is the perfect setting in which to promote the estate’s farm produce and highlight the rich terroir of the island.

Indeed, you will also enjoy legendary wines retrieved from the darkness of the extraordinary adjoining cellar.

La Table de la Plage

An old beach hut was the inspiration for the restaurant’s location. In an enchanting open-air setting, partly in the shade of olive and lentisk trees, you will savour a Mediterranean style cuisine.

In summer…

Constructed from driftwood, with tables spreading down the terraces to the bar and onto the beach. Hidden corners with comfortable armchairs invite you to savour the moment enjoying a cocktail or a glass of chilled rosé before your meal.

The best produce of the Mediterranean sea is suggested on a blackboard. You will relish meat from the estate, or fish and crustaceans straight from the sea, all cooked on the grill and full of exalted flavour.

A warm and friendly atmosphere to get together in spring, summer and autumn, weather permitting.

La Table de la Grotte

La Grotte (the cave) is a welcoming, festive den in which you can enjoy a traditional, rustic cuisine around a fireplace. A magnificent natural cavity that has been spectacularly converted into a restaurant with a cellar of rock, and terraces with panoramic views.

For big occasions…

In a beautiful, captivating refuge, in a natural cave on the mountainside, nests a remarkable restaurant which serves traditional Corsican food and places the emphasis on convivial moments in the warmth of a fire burning in the immense hearth next to the magnificent wine cellar. Every Thursday evening, a polyphonic singing group adds a touch of magic while the glow of candles lights the new trellis terraces to show you Murtoli as you have never seen it before.

La Table de la Ferme by Mathieu Pacaud

A journey within a journey. A unique experience.

The starred chef spends the summer at La Table de la Ferme, which was recently awarded a Michelin star. He enhances the island’s heritage and the produce of the estate with the best in French culinary expertise, offering the essence of Corsica on a plate, in all simplicity.

Behind the stoves of La Table de la Ferme, supported by his loyal team, Mathieu Pacaud crafts rustic dishes that are sober and subtle, with respect for the produce that is entirely planted, raised and harvested on the island of Corsica.

When they invited Mathieu Pacaud, Paul & Valérie Canarelli wanted to put the spotlight on some fine local foods: veal from the estate, poultry, lobster, vegetables from the garden, olive oil, honey, myrtle, calamint, and even salt. All the hidden treasures of the Corsican terroir.

The estate Spa

A very pleasant space, outdoor yet private, is devoted to beauty.

In summer, the outdoor beach spa hides behind flowery bosques, with its massage and treatment parlours, hydrotherapy cabins and hammam.

Outside of the summer season, the spa moves into one of the rooms of the farm building. It is a place for beauty and wellbeing, massages with helichrysum and essential oils of the maquis, as well as other beauty rituals.

Murtoli Spa uses products of the Nucca range, which are 100% natural, formulated with the very best of Corsican flora, and full of authenticity and virtue.
